Finding Justice for Sexual Abuse Survivors
Our Current Sexual Abuse Cases Include
What Happened
For decades, children and teens housed in Los Angeles County’s juvenile detention and foster-care facilities suffered unimaginable abuse at the hands of county employees and staff entrusted with their safety. Survivors came forward with accounts of repeated sexual assault, harassment, and systemic neglect, spanning multiple decades and facilities across the region.
After years of investigation and litigation, Los Angeles County agreed to a $4 billion settlement, one of the largest institutional child sexual abuse settlements in U.S. history, to resolve thousands of survivor claims. The case revealed not only widespread abuse but also institutional failures in supervision, reporting, and accountability that allowed predators to operate unchecked within government-run systems.
What We're Doing
Becker Law Group served as one of the lead legal teams in this landmark case, filing major complaints on behalf of more than 1,200 anonymous plaintiffs. Our attorneys worked alongside a coalition of survivor advocates and partner firms, including McNicholas & McNicholas, LLP, to demand justice and systemic reform.
Our work extends beyond Los Angeles County. Becker Law Group is actively investigating additional county facilities throughout California, representing survivors of abuse in juvenile halls, probation camps, and other institutional settings. Each case is part of a broader mission: to ensure no child suffers in silence again and to hold government agencies accountable for their duty of care.

USC Sexual Abuse
Holding Institutions Accountable for Decades of Neglect
What Happened
For more than three decades, students at the University of Southern California (USC) were subjected to sexual abuse and misconduct by campus gynecologist Dr. George Tyndall. Numerous complaints were reportedly made to university officials about inappropriate and predatory behavior, and yet administrators failed to act, allowing Tyndall to continue seeing patients for years.
The allegations revealed a deeply troubling pattern: USC leadership not only ignored reports but allegedly allowed Tyndall to quietly resign without notifying law enforcement or informing students of the risks. Court filings further claimed that Tyndall targeted vulnerable international students, particularly young women from China unfamiliar with gynecological care, exploiting their trust and language barriers.
What We're Doing
Becker Law Group joined in the pursuit of justice for the survivors of the USC–Tyndall sexual assault scandal, one of the most significant university misconduct cases in U.S. history. Working alongside partner firms and survivor advocates, our team fought to expose USC’s institutional negligence, breach of duty, and willful concealment of abuse. The case resulted in major settlements and a public reckoning that forced the university to confront its failures and implement reforms to better protect students.
What You Can Do
While the Tyndall case has reached settlement, Becker Law Group remains committed to representing survivors of institutional sexual abuse on college campuses, in hospitals, and in other trusted settings. If you experienced abuse and were failed by those who should have protected you, our attorneys can help you seek justice and accountability.
