9-11-2024 – 9:00 am – The Airport Fire has grown to 22,376 acres. The fire continues to move east towards Lake Elsinore. It is not currently affecting the City of Lake Forest.
9-10-2024 – 12:00 pm – An Evacuation Warning has been issued for Zone SIL01, including Silverado Canyon and Modjeska Canyon. For the zones’ parameters, see the Watch Duty Map or the Orange County Evacuation Map at https://ocsheriff.gov/AirportFire.
9:00 am Updates can be found here – Airport Fire | CAL FIRE As of 9:00 am on 9/10/2024 the fire is at 8.510 acres and moving eastward. There are no areas in Lake Forest currently affected by the fire.
9-9-2024 – Airport Fire in South Orange County. The County of Orange activated and staffed the Emergency Operations Center with County agency representatives at 2:30 PM on Monday, September 9, 2024. The Public Information Hotline has been staffed and is ready to accept calls of inquiry regarding the Airport Fire.
The Public Information Hotline phone number is (714) 628-7085. All resources and support personnel have been identified and are on standby ready to mobilize other areas of the Emergency Operations Center when needed.
A large animal shelter has been established at 88 Fair Drive in the City of Costa Mesa.
Residents may receive emergency alerts on their cell phones and e-mail addresses by registering online at www.alertoc.com. The phone numbers registered will be called only if the registered address is affected by an emergency situation.

Public safety and City officials will send official notifications and information through AlertOC and Nixle. Ensure you and your loved ones are registered for both to receive critical information via text, email, or telephone.
Lake Forest will also broadcast important information over Cox Channel 851 and AM 1690. You an also listen to AM 1690 on the web, at http://bit.ly/LakeForestAM1690
Additionally, the Lake Forest Emergency Hotline is continually updated during an emergency. Call (949) 461-3536 for recorded updates.
